Great balls of flowers
Last month we hung flower balls for a wedding down at the Atlantic Group, Docklands. After many consultations with the rigging company at the venue and the staging staff, we created a strategy for secure hanging. Because these flower balls are 30cm in diameter before decoration and once wet weigh in at around 18kg each (!!!), they had to be secured in a steel cage with a steel hook so that they could be suspended from the truss without risk of falling on someone. And then they were ready for decorating.
And three pretty flower balls swinging up high above the heads of the folk on dance floor! After adding hydrangea, roses, lissies and dahlia’s, they each ended up being around 50 cm in diameter. Mammoth! x
